History

Founded in 1991, the Uganda Community was established by Ugandans who had left their homeland for various reasons. Over time, they were joined by their new families, leading to the growth of a diverse and vibrant community. Today, we proudly celebrate this diversity, as our membership extends beyond Ugandans to include friends of Uganda and well-wishers from all backgrounds. In 2022, the association was renamed the Uganda-German Community Berlin Brandenburg to reflect its expanding reach and inclusivity, welcoming members who may not have Ugandan origins but share a special connection to Uganda.
